Nowadays, on social media platforms, there are videos featuring single animated characters talking. When you see these videos, your brain raises a question like, "Can I make those?" So, I wrote this article to answer these types of questions. Here, you'll learn how to create a talking animated avatar with your own voice or generated voice. So, carefully follow each line and each step to get better results. Let's go.
Step 1: Firstly, make an animated avatar image.
First, you make an animated avatar through an AI tool. There are many AI tools available on the internet, such as DALL·E 3, Midjourney, Bing Image Creator, and so on. Here, we suggest one of our favorites, Bing Image Creator. It is easy to use and provides you with cool images and avatars. You can use any AI tool that you find easy to use.
Note: Make an avatar with an empty background so you can easily change the background as you wish.
Here is the process to make an avatar on "Bing Image Creator":
- Go to "Bing Image Creator" through this link: Bing Image Creator
- If you have an account on Bing, sign in with your details. If you don't, sign up with the required information.
- Type your prompt for an avatar with an empty background. Ensure that the avatar has perfect lips and eyes.
- After providing the prompt on "Bing Image Creator," you will receive some samples. Select the one you like. That's it, avatar creation is completed.
Step 2: Create your script.
You need a script to create a talking animated avatar, so you must create your script. If you are good at script writing, you don't need to worry. If you don't have any knowledge of writing a script, you can take help from AI tools like ChatGPT, Bard AI, Jasper, or LaMDA. Here, I suggest ChatGPT because it's easy to use, and the basic version is free.
Step 3: Convert the script into an audio file.
In the process of creating a talking animated avatar, this step is crucial because if the voice is attractive, it grabs attention. So, if you have a good voice, it's better to convert your script into audio using your own voice. If you don't want to use your own voice for the talking avatar, here is a solution for you: AI voice generation tools. There are many text-to-voice conversion tools available on the internet, but I suggest one of our favorite tools, Eleven Labs because it provides realistic voices and allows you to clone your voice. Once your script is converted into an audio file, you can download it.
Step 4: Avatar + Audio File into Talking Custom Animated Avatar.
In this step, we use an AI tool that plays the most important role in the process. It provides you with a talking animated avatar from the avatar image and audio file. The tool we use is D-ID. This tool recently started its business in the AI industry and offers various AI products. Among these products, "AI Agents" is the one we use here.
Here is the final process:
- Go to the website D-ID or download the D-ID app from the Play Store or App Store.
- Create an account on D-ID using your email.
- After creating the account, go to the "AI Agents" section. There are many pre-made avatars available, we first upload the created avatar image and then upload another file, which is the audio file we created in the previous step.
- After uploading, D-ID takes time based on the duration of your script audio. Finally, you get the talking avatar, which you can download and use wherever you want.
Conclusion:
I hope you understand all the steps and processes mentioned above. In this guide, we used various AI tools, all of which are paid services. However, they often provide free credits for demo purposes. You can utilize these free credits to determine whether the AI tool is suitable for your needs or not.
